Government Medical College Idukki was established in 2014 by the Government of Kerala to provide advanced healthcare and medical education in the remote hilly district of Idukki. Located at Cheruthoni, the college is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission. The campus spreads across around 90 acres and includes academic buildings, modern laboratories, student hostels and a teaching hospital developed from the district hospital complex. The institute offers MBBS education with strong focus on rural health services, clinical training and community outreach for tribal and remote populations.
