The institute began in 1960 as Medical College Rohtak and later evolved into a postgraduate institute in 1995. Today it is incorporated under Pt. B. D. Sharma University of Health Sciences and serves as a major tertiary healthcare and research center for Haryana and neighboring states. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super-specialty medical programs with extensive hospital facilities, advanced laboratories, and specialized centers. Its large campus, teaching hospital and diverse departments provide students with strong clinical exposure and research opportunities.
